Sponsored Projects

Danen Consulting Services provides free services to the Linux and Open Source community with the following projects:

Annvix is an operating system derived from Mandriva Linux with the aim to be a secure, yet easy to administer, Linux server. The package size has been severely reduced from a standard Mandriva Linux installation to provide the essentials for running a variety of network services, and it has also been enhanced with a number of additional hardening technologies to make a secure operating system similar in aim to distributions such as Trustix, Immunix, and even OpenBSD. Annvix also takes a non-standard approach to running system services that increases the reliability of network services by using Gerrit Pape's runit, a means of supervising services similar to DJB's daemontools.

linsec.ca is a free online security resource manual for *NIX operating systems such as Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, etc. on a variety of security-related topics.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux is the Linux distribution we typically use and recommend for workstation and server Linux usage. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is a compelling Linux operating system with excellent support. For desktop usage, we recommend the use of Fedora, the community Linux operating system suitable for desktop systems, sponsored by Red Hat.
